Business License
Pursuant to City ordinances, any person, firm, or organization engaged in business in the City of Willow Springs must obtain a business license. Business License fees in the amount of $40.00 are due and payable by January 1 of each year. Click here to print a copy of the business license application.
The following items are required by the applicant prior to the issuance of a business license with the City of Willow Springs:
- If you are a retailer, you must submit a copy of your State of Missouri Sales Tax License and Certificate of No Tax Due. If your business does not make retail sales, it is not required to present a statement of No Tax Due.
- If you are a contractor in the construction industry, you must provide the City with a Certificate of Insurance for Workers Compensation or an affidavit signed by the applicant attesting that the contractor is exempt from RSMo 287.060. - All business licenses expire December 31 of each year. Renewal notices will be mailed in October and must be returned to the City Clerk’s office no later than December 1. Any businesses that are not in compliance by March 1 will be assessed a 20% late fee. Any businesses that are not in compliance by April 1 will be placed on the agenda for discussion in open session at the next Council meeting.
